Deborah Morris completed her Bachelor of Fine Art and Secondary Level Teaching Certification at the University of Texas at Austin. While exploring various media including oil, acrylics and ceramics she taught art to children in public and private schools in Austin, and did freelance graphic art and illustration. After obtaining her Master of Architecture in 1987 she began a practice in Houston which she maintains today.
Her architectural projects have been exhibited throughout the country, and recognized nationally and internationally through publication in prestigious periodicals and journals including Progressive Architecture, Texas Architect, Architecture, Dwell, and Architectural Review. Since her return to art in 2004 she has focused primarily on drawing in pencil and crayon. Ms. Morris has exhibited her work in juried shows and by invitation in Houston and Austin, and was a finalist for the 2007 Hunting Art Prize.
